birds of prey displays Spring 2016

Although we fly all year round  not only I am acutely aware of the changing seasons as an outside worker but more so flying birds of prey which is a weather dependent activity but also the business itself is intensely seasonal with our main activity during the summer months.

We fly a small team through the winter months – enough to provide a display lasting about one hour. A forty minute interactive flying display with the rest of the time used for additional handling. This format has worked well for us over the years from educational displays to displays for weddings.

Now we are heading towards the spring and summer season additionally  I am now flying ‘Pete’ the Kestrel. ‘Brian’ the Lanneret has just come out of his winter aviary. He is a falcon that I am looking forward very much to flying again as he hinted last season of great things to come – I will report back on his progress.

‘ Sprite’ the Peregrine will be joining the team in a couple of weeks after having a rest period in an aviary after Christmas – and so the next few weeks will be exciting to see him and the others flying again.

I will leave you with a nice wedding picture taken some years ago – the bride, the groom and falcons.
