July update. Things have been progressing along.  Our encounter with the Knights of Royal England went well at Stonor Park as part of their Jousting weekend. It was hot on Saturday and I had ‘radioed ahead’ in the week requesting additional shade. We have all the kit for this – to protect the birds at an event – but natural shade from a tree is very helpful. Anyway we had a lovely tree to sit under on static display and everything was fine. There were a huge number of Red Kites about – for many this is normal but here in Gloucestershire seeing a Kite is still rare enough to make it noteworthy.

We proceed. Talking of the static display I will sign off with a photo of it from Blenheim ‘before the day started’. Another lovely venue like Stonor both being great for families.
