Falconry Displays

It is with sadness that I report  the passing of Leah one of our best ever falcons. She had flown for 17 seasons at events all over the country with great style. Last September we decided after the Jousting event at Stoner Park that would be her last display.

She was a naturally fit falcon and we remember a wonderful day at Blenheim Palace when she went up high on a thermal and stooped vertically down into the arena – to the amazement and applause of the audience.

She flew with great aplomb at many events ranging away and racing back in at great speed – I would describe us thus as a ‘rangy lithe powerful falcon’ and that summed her up perfectly. She had a peculiar temperament and would do odd things – the first thing she would do at every event was to take a bath! which effectively meant not been able to fly her till the afternoon. She will be much missed. I sign off with a picture of her flying at Blenheim.
